WHAT IS TANTRA?

The meaning of Tantra, a Sanskrit word, is 'to weave'. Simply put, your body, the physical self, and the spiritual self need to 'be woven' together in order for you to achieve a greater realization and an awakening towards enlightenment.

Tantra originated from India and dates back to the 6th century. While different versions exist, Tantra is more commonly known as the divine union of God Shiva (masculine principle) and Goddess Shakti (feminine principle).

WHAT IS KUNDALINI?

The meaning of Kundalini, a Sanskrit word, is 'coiled serpent'. It is a dormant energy located at the base of the spine, taking the form of a serpent.

When awakened, the Kundalini energy (the serpent) rises through the base of your spine, lighting all your chakras to the Crown Chakra located at the top of the head.

The goal of many Tantric practices is to realize the unity of Shiva and Shakti within oneself, which leads to spiritual liberation.

WHAT ARE THE CHAKRAS?

Chakras are the energy centers in your body. They are located along your spine, from the base to the top. There are a total of seven chakras in your physical self:

  1. Root Chakra (Muladhara): Base of the spine at the perineum

  2. Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana): Lower abdomen below the navel

  3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura): Upper abdomen a few inches above the belly button

  4. Heart Chakra (Anahata): Center of the chest near the heart

  5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha): The throat

  6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna): Between the eyebrows slightly above (non-physical chakra)

  7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara): Top of the head (non-physical chakra)

Chakras are thought to be spinning energy discs. When unblocked and open, they allow the flow of energy along the base of the spine, which is mandatory for the rise of Kundalini energy.

Blocked chakras can negatively affect your body, mind, and soul. This distances you from your awakening.

Step 1 : Identify chakra blockages

Life is messy; things don't always go according to plan.

Chakras are your energy centers. If they don't flow like water from the root to the crown, they become blocked.

You must open your chakras to let your energy flow, even through simple steps.

Once you identify and rectify the chakra blockages, you will unleash your true self and your spiritual energy.
